Ross LaBossiere, LMT   RI license #MT00346

Ross LaBossiere is a licensed physical therapist assistant, a licensed massage therapist and a certified yoga therapist with over 35 years of experience in both clinical and non-clinical settings.

With an academic background in health education, exercise science, physical therapy, and massage, he notes that his real education has come from years of clinical observation and the application of several therapeutic massage, bodywork, and movement oriented techniques, to address a wide range of musculoskeletal pain disorders.  In addition to this, he has also explored, studied, and practiced some of the more alternative, mind/body approaches to treatment.

His therapeutic massage/bodywork is anchored in Myofascial Release and Neuromuscular/Trigger Point Therapy.  This, in combination with his clinical orthopedic massage experience, allows him to bridge the gap between the clinical and more wholistic approaches to treatment for the benefit of each individual client.

Structural Integration (SI) is form of bodywork that reorganizes the connective tissues, called fascia, that permeate the entire body.  These connective tissues surround, support and penetrate all of the muscles, bones, nerves and organs. SI is a mindfulness-based approach to aligning body structure with body function.  SI is the integration of therapeutic bodywork (myofascial Release and Neuromuscular Trigger Point Therapy), along with gentle passive, assistive and active stretching to improve pain free range of motion, flexibility, posture and proprioceptive movement awareness.  As soft tissue restrictions are released, the appropriate movement allows the body to "realign" itself.  New organization of the fascial structures creates new movement patterns, and new movement patterns allow the structural changes to remain intact.

For those who want to take an extra step, Ross also offers his Mind/Body Health maintenance and Rehabilitation programs.  These mindfulness-based programs are individualized for each client's specific needs, and can be booked separately or in combination with massage/bodywork sessions.

Kirsten Jones, LMT    RI license # MT02362

Kirsten has been involved in the healthcare field since she was just fourteen years old.  She is a graduate of the renowned Oliver Wolcott Technical High School in Torrington, Connecticut.  Her education focus was in various aspects of health care and she became proficient in medical terminology.

Kirsten spent time advancing her education by shadowing other professionals in settings such as hospitals, adult day care facilities and skilled nursing facilities.  All of those experiences had a direct impact on her career path, namely:  "helping others".  As part of her high school curriculum, Kirsten took the CT state exam and became a CT sate licensed CNA and began her work in a skilled nursing facility at the young age of seventeen.

After being accepted into the New England Institute of Technology's nursing degree program in 2014, Kirsten moved to Rhode Island.   Her time at NEIT included extensive studies in biology and human anatomy.   Although she concluded that nursing would not be her passion, she valued her learning and work experience and carried it forward as she transitioned into the massage program at Lincoln Technical Institute in Rhode Island.

Kirsten quickly realized, from her very first day of training, that she had chosen wisely.  She anticipated her daily attendance in the program with an incomparable eagerness to advance her learning experience.  With over 2,000 hours of hands on experience in just 1.5 years, Kirsten is looking forward to learning more and more about massage and herself.  She plans to continue her education while implementing her finely tuned skills here at Massage On Main.

Kirsten is gifted and she is attuned to the needs of her clients, adjusting her massage treatments accordingly using relaxation and deep tissue techniques.  Her skills receive many compliments from clients who routinely re-schedule for her tailored treatments.
